Letterpress Broadside
2019 – A collaborative design project with poet Alison C. Rolins, this broadside incorporates various text elements that play with the accompanying visual elements. I assisted with creating the preparing the paper for the printed text and assembling all three components (text, feather, birds) into one cohesive piece. When selecting broadside prints to be part of the edition, I acted as a second opinion when conducting detailed quality checks.
From the colophon: “This broadside was printed at The Press at Colorado College in November of 2019. Design by Aaron Cohick. Printed by Aaron Cohick, Nicole Leung, and Alison C. Rollins. […] The bird image used in the poem was scanned from The English Duden: A Pictorial Dictionary with English and German Indexes. London: George G. Harrap, 1960. The hawk feather rendering, printed in dark red, is by Corie J. Cole.”
